Please join us for A Conversation with Father Patrick Desbois, Founder and President of Yahad-In Unum, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to identifying and commemorating the sites of Jewish and Roma mass executions in Eastern Europe during World War II and educating about genocide prevention.


Father Desbois is the author of Holocaust by Bullets: A Priest's Journey to Uncover the Truth Behind the Murder of 1.5 Million Jews, winner of the 2008 National Jewish Book Award, In Broad Daylight: The Secret Procedures Behind the Holocaust by Bullets, and The Terrorist Factory: Isis, the Yazidi Genocide, and Exporting Terror. Father Desbois is the Braman Endowed Professor of the Practice of the Forensic Study of the Holocaust at Georgetown University, and he was awarded the Tom Lantos Human Rights Prize in 2017.


Father Desbois has been featured on CBS' 60 Minutes and has fought tirelessly to preserve the memory of those killed by mass violence, including the Holocaust.


The conversation will be moderated by Scott Peppet, Professor of Law at the University of Colorado Law School, where he has taught negotiation, conflict resolution, and other subjects since 2000.

Founded in 2004, Yahad-In Unum is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to identifying and commemorating the sites of Jewish and Roma mass executions in Eastern Europe during WWII and educating about genocide prevention. Yahad-In Unum's Founder and President, Father Patrick Desbois, has devoted his life to researching the Holocaust, fighting anti-Semitism, and furthering relations between Catholics and Jews.


In identifying and documenting the Holocaust by Bullets, Yahad-In Unum has recorded the testimonies of thousands of participants and witnesses to these events. Through 14 years of fieldwork, Yahad-In Unum has identified over 1,460 execution sites, 2,487 mass graves, and recorded 6,098 testimonies.
